A boiler chosen for your home
A good replacement starts with understanding your property, hot-water needs and existing system. We assess what you have, explain suitable options clearly and recommend a boiler sized for your household—not simply the most expensive model.

Combi, system or regular: which suits you?
A combi boiler heats water on demand straight from the mains, so there is no hot-water cylinder and no tank in the loft. It suits many flats and smaller houses where one shower runs at a time, and it frees up the airing cupboard. Combi boiler installation is the most common job we quote for.
A system boiler works with a hot-water cylinder but takes its water from the mains, so it can feed two bathrooms at once more comfortably. A regular (heat-only) boiler keeps the cold-water tank in the loft as well as the cylinder, and can be the sensible choice where the existing pipework was designed around it or mains pressure is low.
Which one fits depends on how many people live in the house, how many bathrooms you have, your incoming water pressure and how much space you can spare. Our guide to what a new boiler costs explains how each of these choices affects the price.
The survey before your quote
Before giving you a fixed quotation, Chris visits to look at the current boiler, the flue position, the gas supply, the condensate route and your radiators and controls. He will ask how your household uses hot water and whether anything about the heating already annoys you, such as a slow-to-warm room.
That visit is how we avoid surprises on the day. If the flue needs to move, the gas pipe needs upgrading or a tank needs removing for a combi conversion, you will know beforehand and it will be written into the quote. The quotation is free and there is no obligation to go ahead.
When should you replace a boiler?
Frequent faults, rising energy use, uneven heating and difficulty finding parts can all signal that replacement is worth considering. We will discuss repair and replacement honestly so you can make an informed choice. If you are unsure, read how long a boiler usually lasts or ask us to look at your current one under our boiler repairs service first.
What happens during installation
We confirm the scope before work starts, protect the working area, complete the installation and test the system thoroughly. Before leaving, we explain the controls and answer your questions.
On installation day the water and heating are drained down, the old boiler is disconnected and removed, and the new one is mounted, piped in and connected to the flue. Where a system clean is part of the job, it is done before the new boiler is fired up so old sludge does not end up inside it. Gas tightness is checked, the boiler is commissioned, and the radiators are checked for heat.
Aftercare and servicing
Most manufacturers ask for a yearly service to keep their warranty valid, and the length of that warranty varies by brand and model. We will tell you what your chosen boiler requires and can carry out the annual boiler servicing for you. If anything about the controls is unclear once you have lived with them for a week, give us a call.
Where we fit boilers
We are based in Briton Ferry and install boilers for homeowners across Neath, Port Talbot and the surrounding area, including older terraced streets where the flue and condensate route need extra thought—see our page for plumbers in Swansea for more on that.
Common questions
Boiler Installation FAQs
Clear answers before you arrange a visit.
How do I know which boiler I need?+
It depends on your property size, water demand and current heating system. We assess these details before recommending an option.
Can you replace an old combi boiler?+
Yes. Straightforward combi replacements are common, but we inspect the existing pipework and controls before confirming the work required.
Do you provide a free quote?+
Yes. Contact us with your address and a few details about your current boiler to arrange a no-obligation quotation.
Can I switch from a tank and cylinder to a combi?+
Often, yes. The survey checks whether your mains pressure and hot-water use suit a combi, and the quote will include removing the tank and cylinder if that is the plan.
Can the new boiler go in a different place?+
Sometimes. Moving a boiler means new gas, water, flue and condensate routes, so we look at where it could go during the survey and explain what that involves.
