A proper boiler quote starts with a look at your home, not a guess. Here is what Chris needs from you, what happens at the survey and what the quote will show.

Why online boiler prices often change

Plenty of websites will give you a boiler price in a few clicks. The trouble is that a form cannot see where your flue comes out, how far the gas meter is from the boiler or whether the old system is full of sludge. Those details are where the price really gets decided, so a figure given without a visit can move once someone actually turns up.

We do it the other way round. You send us the basics, Chris comes out to look, and the written quote reflects your house as it really is.

What to send us first

A few photos and answers on WhatsApp or the quote form let Chris prepare for the visit and spot anything unusual before he arrives:

  • A photo of your current boiler with the casing on, plus the data label if you can find it
  • A photo of the flue where it leaves the house, inside and out
  • Whether you have a hot water cylinder or a tank in the loft
  • How many bedrooms and bathrooms, and how many people live there
  • Your postcode and the best times to call you

What happens at the survey

Chris checks the gas supply and meter, measures where the flue can go and looks at where the condensate pipe can drain. He also looks at the radiators and pipework, because a new boiler on a dirty system will not stay efficient for long.

He will also ask how you use hot water. Two showers running at once in the morning points to a different boiler from a couple in a small flat. That conversation decides whether a combi boiler installation or a system boiler installation makes more sense, and whether an existing cylinder should stay or be replaced through our hot water cylinder installation service.

Combi boiler quotes

Most people asking for a combi quote are replacing a combi like for like, which is the simplest job. If you are moving from a tank-and-cylinder system to a combi, the quote has to include removing the old tanks, capping redundant pipework and often moving the boiler. Mention it when you first get in touch, as it changes what Chris looks at on the visit.

What the written quote covers

You get one quote for the whole job, with the boiler type, controls, flue, any gas or condensate pipe work and system cleaning spelled out. If there are options, such as keeping the boiler where it is or moving it, they are listed separately so you can compare them.

There is no obligation, and quotes are free. If you want to understand the cost factors before booking, our new boiler cost guide goes through them one by one, and the main boiler installation page explains how the fitting day works.

Ask for your quote

Call or WhatsApp 07429 632804 with your photos, or fill in the quote form and Chris will be in touch to arrange the survey.

Common questions

New Boiler Quote FAQs

Clear answers before you arrange a visit.

Can you give me a boiler quote over the phone?+

Chris can give you a rough idea of what is involved from photos, but the written quote comes after he has seen the boiler, flue and gas supply in person.

How long is a quote valid for?+

Ask when you receive it. Chris will tell you how long the quoted figure stands.

Do I need to be home for the survey?+

Yes. Chris needs access to the boiler, the gas meter and the outside wall, and it helps to talk through how your household uses hot water.

Can I get quotes for both a combi and a system boiler?+

Yes. If either could suit your home, ask for both options on the same quote so you can compare them side by side.
