Gas Safe registered 25 years in the trade 12 years running the business
Who fits your new boiler
When you book a new boiler with us, the person who surveys your house is the person who fits it. That is Chris Gill, who has 25 years in the trade and has spent the last 12 running C Gill Plumbing & Heating, working alongside his son, a second-year apprentice. We are Gas Safe registered and family-run, and we are based at 65 Church Street in Briton Ferry, a short drive along the bay from the city.
Boiler installation is the main job we do, so it gets our full attention rather than being squeezed in around other work. You will not be passed between a salesperson, a surveyor and a subcontracted fitter: you speak to Chris from the first call to the handover. For a broader look at how we approach every replacement, see our main boiler installation page.
Like-for-like swap or an upgrade?
Many Swansea homeowners simply want the old boiler out and a new one of the same type in the same place. That is often the most straightforward route, but it is still worth checking whether it is the right one. During the survey Chris looks at where the flue leaves the house and whether it meets current rules, the size and condition of the gas and heating pipework, the route for the condensate pipe, and how much hot water your household uses at busy times of day.
Those details decide whether a direct swap makes sense or whether a different setup would serve you better. A household that has grown, or a second bathroom that has been added since the old boiler went in, can change the answer. If you are weighing up a combi boiler installation against keeping a cylinder, Chris will explain the trade-offs plainly, and our guide to what a new boiler costs sets out what moves the price either way.

What happens on installation day
We agree the date and the full scope with you beforehand, so there are no surprises when we arrive. On the day we protect floors and the working area, drain the system, disconnect and remove the old boiler, then mount the new one and connect it to the gas, water, heating and flue. Once it is running we test it, check the radiators are warming and set up the controls with you.
Moving the boiler to a new room, changing from one type to another or replacing a run of pipework adds time, and Chris will confirm how long your installation will take when he quotes. Before we leave, we show you how to use the controls and what to look out for on the pressure gauge.
Booking planned work across Swansea
Because we travel in from SA11, we treat Swansea installations as planned work booked in advance. That suits a boiler replacement well: it lets us order the right parts, set aside the whole day and arrive ready to start. Swansea sits comfortably within our roughly 30-mile radius, whether you live on a terraced street near the centre, in the western suburbs or out towards Morriston and Clydach.
To get things moving, call or WhatsApp with your postcode, the make of your current boiler if you know it, and a photo of the boiler and flue if you can take one. We are available Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 8am to 6pm. Chris will arrange a time to visit, and the survey and quote are free with no obligation. You can also read more about our general work on the plumber in Swansea page.
Aftercare and annual servicing
A new boiler runs best when it is looked at once a year. We can add you to our list for yearly boiler servicing, so the same people who fitted it keep an eye on it. If anything about the controls or the way the heating behaves is not quite right in the first few weeks, ring us and we will talk it through. When you are ready to start, use the quote form on our contact page, call 07429 632804 or send a WhatsApp message.
Common questions
Boiler Installation in Swansea FAQs
Clear answers before you arrange a visit.
Do you install boilers in all parts of Swansea?+
Swansea falls within our roughly 30-mile radius of Briton Ferry, so we can quote for homes across the city and its suburbs. Send your postcode if you want to check.
How long does a boiler installation take?+
It depends on the job. Moving the boiler or changing type takes longer than a like-for-like swap, and Chris will confirm how long your installation will take when he quotes.
Do I need a survey before a quote?+
Yes. Chris visits to check the flue, gas supply, pipework and your hot water use first, so the quote reflects your home rather than a guess. The survey is free.
Can you move my boiler at the same time?+
Often, yes. Moving it means new gas, water, flue and condensate routes, so Chris looks at the options during the survey and includes the work in the quote.
Do you service the boiler afterwards?+
Yes. We offer annual boiler servicing, so the team that fitted your boiler can look after it each year.
