Gas Safe registered 25 years in the trade 12 years running the business
Llanelli and our area
Llanelli is on the western side of our roughly 30-mile radius from Briton Ferry. We're happy to work there, and we're honest that it suits planned jobs best — the kind you can book in advance so we can arrive with the right boiler, the right fittings and a clear plan for the day.
C Gill & Son is a family-run, Gas Safe registered business. Chris has 25 years in the trade and has run the business for 12 of them, working with his son, a second-year apprentice. The person who surveys your home is the person who does the work.
Typical Llanelli homes
The town's character comes from its long terraced streets, many built during its tinplate and industrial years, alongside inter-war council housing, post-war estates and newer developments along the coast towards Burry Port and Pembrey.
Terraced homes often have the boiler in the kitchen or a rear room, with limited space and a flue that may need rethinking under current rules. Coastal estates face the same wind and salt air as anywhere on the Loughor estuary and Carmarthen Bay, which is hard on flue terminals and external pipes.
Planned boiler replacements
Boiler installation is the work Chris most wants to do, and it's the most common reason Llanelli homeowners contact us. A replacement starts with a survey: we look at your current boiler, how much hot water the household uses, the gas supply and where the flue and condensate pipe can go, then give you a fixed quote.
Bathroom refits are the other job that suits being booked ahead. We plan the plumbing first fix around your layout, coordinate with your tiler or plasterer, then return for the second fix — more on our bathroom installations page. We can also add or replace radiators and controls as part of central heating work at the same time.

Older systems we often find
In Llanelli's older terraces it's common to find a regular boiler with a cylinder in the airing cupboard and a tank in the loft, sometimes with pipework that has been extended room by room over the years. That doesn't automatically mean a combi is the answer. If the household uses a lot of hot water at once, keeping a stored system and upgrading the boiler can be the better choice. We talk this through on the survey rather than recommending the same thing for every house, and we'll tell you if a system clean is needed before the new boiler goes on. If you're unsure what you have now, a photo of the boiler and the airing cupboard is a good start.
