How to check who is working on your gas
Every legitimate gas engineer carries a Gas Safe ID card with a photo and a licence number. Turn it over: the back lists the categories they are qualified for, such as domestic boilers, cookers or fires. Someone registered only for boilers should not be fitting your gas fire.
You can also enter the licence number on the Gas Safe Register website to confirm it is current. Chris shows his card at the door and is happy for you to check it.
Why it matters
Badly fitted gas appliances can leak gas or produce carbon monoxide, which you cannot see or smell. That is why the law limits gas work to registered engineers, and why a fitted, working carbon monoxide alarm near any gas appliance is worth having.
Jobs we take on in Llanelli
Heating engineer work alongside
Radiators, thermostatic valves, controls and cylinders are heating rather than gas work, but they decide how well the boiler performs. Chris covers both, so a Llanelli home with cold rooms gets the full system looked at — not only the appliance.
Lettings around the town
From terraces in Dafen and Llwynhendy to flats near the town centre, rented homes with gas need an annual safety check and a record for tenants. Our landlords page explains timings and paperwork.
