Emergency Boiler Repair in Swansea and Port Talbot

A boiler that stops in cold weather is more than an inconvenience. If you are in Swansea or Port Talbot, ring and Chris will tell you honestly whether and when he can attend — and what safe checks to try first.

Right in the middle of the bay

Briton Ferry sits between the two towns, which is why boiler breakdowns on either side of Swansea Bay are practical for us. On the Swansea side that means places like Sketty, Uplands, Morriston and St Thomas; on the Port Talbot side, Sandfields, Baglan, Aberavon and the town centre.

Phone 07429 632804 and Chris will tell you honestly whether and when he can attend. Our hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 8am to 6pm. If he cannot make it, he will say so straight away.

Read the display first

Modern boilers tell you a lot. A code such as a flame failure, low pressure or overheat warning points to different parts, and knowing it before Chris sets out decides whether he can bring the fix with him. Take a photo of the screen, note the make and model from the front panel or the data badge underneath, and tell him what the boiler was doing at the time.

Five checks that are safe to do

  • Pressure gauge between roughly 1 and 1.5 bar when cold — refill via the filling loop if low
  • Isolator switch and fuse spur on
  • Gas reaching the hob, if you have a gas hob
  • Thermostat turned up and the programmer calling for heat
  • Condensate pipe outside not frozen in sub-zero weather

The cold-snap classic

When temperatures drop below freezing for a few days, a frozen condensate pipe is behind a large share of shutdowns, especially where the pipe runs a long way outside. Pouring warm — never boiling — water along it and resetting the boiler often gets the heat back on. The frozen condensate pipe guide shows how and how to prevent it.

Hillside homes and seafront flats

Swansea's steep terraces in Mount Pleasant and Townhill often have boilers tucked into kitchens with flues through exposed walls, while seafront flats in Aberavon face salty wind. Both affect how flues and outside pipes cope, and Chris will check them once the urgent repair is done.

Common questions

Emergency Boiler Repair FAQs

Clear answers before you arrange a visit.

Can you get to Swansea or Port Talbot today?+

Ring 07429 632804. Chris will tell you honestly whether and when he can attend — we do not promise arrival times.

Where do I find the boiler model?+

On the front panel or a data badge, often underneath or behind a flap. A photo of it, plus the fault code, helps Chris prepare.

What pressure should my boiler show?+

Typically around 1 to 1.5 bar when the system is cold. Much lower can cause a lock-out; refill using the filling loop.

Do you cover Morriston and Baglan?+

Yes — both towns and the communities around them are within our area.
